Love me a system pipe. Unfortunately, the non-laminar flow increases condensation increasing moisture build up. This is easily remedied with bending the pipe cleaner and swabbing the chamber after smoking and allowing to dry upside down with the stem out.
I use a Q-tip between bowls and then a Q with vodka at the end of the evening. Love my Systems.

One thing I love about spigots and army mount pipes is that in the event of a gurgle, I can easily remove the stem mid-smoke and either swab it out or flick out the moisture in the same direction it came from and away from my mouth. Unfortunately, the very design of these mounts somewhat contributes to the accumulation of moisture, due to turbulence caused by the large amount of space in the mortise.

System pipes work, but I prefer the higher grade ones with a metal condenser.

Fun fact. The mortise, moisture well, and the shoulder for the shank cap of a Peterson System pipe are all fashioned simultaneously by a single bit on a lathe.

This is why I consider my Peterson system pipe my "workhorse" pipe. If I am out and about I bring it and smoke bowl after bowl. Quick pass of the pipe cleaner without even allowing it to cool, load and light.

I also break the rule of dedicating the pipe to a certain tobacco. Heresy, I know.

Sometimes when I'm walking outdoors I put my thumb over the bowl and give it a hard flick at the ground, I wouldn't do that in the house or truck though.
Ive only been at this a few years…just recently heard someone relay that trick. Man its been life changing for me - a wet smoker.

Ive got a pete 338 that I love to smoke, but is a gurgler, and next to impossible to pass a pipe cleaner. Just flick back through the stem then rock and roll. Love it.

Of course, a lot of the suggestions are only temporary solutions. One sure way to permanently stop the gurgle is to shoot the smoker. Mind you, I'm not suggesting such as I'm one of the smokers.

Something i've noticed works if the gurgle isnt herrendous is to blow back into the pipe gently, this kind of forces the juice back into the base of the bowl. This is only really worth doing if you can't easily pass a pipe cleaner without taking the pipe apart(see: bent pipes). It also has the downside that the very bottom tobacco may become more wet and thus harder to finish the bowl all the way to the bottom, but it does work quite well for me.

Deja vu lol. I also do this from time to time, it works well but also reminds me to sip a little more lightly thereafter, as I am usually the cause of the gurgle in the first place.

In addition to Peterson systems as mentioned, I have found that Brigham pipes are also highly resistant to gurgle, I think this is because their filter configuration is similar the system drilling.
