I grew up listening to Tom as a little tyke then later in basic training it was the only CD we could all agree on. I had the fortune to meet him in person and enjoy a beer by the river near their home outside of Acton Ontario. If any great Canadian deserves to lie in state it's Tom

Tom was born in New Brunswick but was adopted by a family just 3 miles from where I live. He spent some of his childhood here. He's still a pretty big deal here and did come back to visit now and then and still remembered a lot of the older folks around. I was lucky enough to see him in concert a couple years back and he was still great! I started out listening to his records when I was a kid (sorry about rambling). He will be missed, RIP Tom. PS, that was a great story Piperl12.
