Pipe tobacco is definitely the poor relation of the tobacco world. First comes cigarettes then cigars then a distant 3rd are pipe tobaccos. At least we can lord it over broke ass snuff💪
First comes Cigarettes and then Roll You own tobaccos, or vice versa, at least here up north in Scandinavia & Holland,( snus and those idiotic nicotine pouches in Sweden& Finland)

Just received order yesterday from pipes and cigars and they shipped my 15 tins of capstan in a larger than normal box with no wrapping or bubble wrap! The were just banging around like lottery balls! Thanks for the memories I’ll miss you
In this uncertain world it’s good to know that some things never change.

At least you received your order.
I ordered a 1lb box of ODF from pipes and cigars a few days ago. The website said they had 8 in stock when I ordered it. The next morning it said they had 6. Two days later I got an email saying that the item is on backorder and my order can't be filled. I get the feeling that they've sent that email many many times before.
I really liked tobaccopipes. I'm sad to see them go.

I don’t get it, wouldn’t prohibitions, heavy taxes, or strict regulations on cigarettes ultimately benefit pipe tobacco and cigars as niche hobbies in the long run?

Except governments like to lump taxes on tobacco based on weight, not differentiating between cuts or processes. Because to them tobacco is tobacco etc etc
Not in the UK and places in Europe. Cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco is taxed far more highly than pipe tobacco and the UK government sets what the cut is for RYO versus pipe. Snuff has no duty on it currently.

That’s good for the pipe tobacco industry, right? It’s interesting how most people can’t usually differentiate between tobacco and pipe tobacco, often seeing cigarettes and pipes as the same thing. However, it’s reassuring to know that some European countries do make this distinction. I wonder if this is because of the strong pipe smoking tradition, particularly in Northern Europe.
