Stem taste like smoke/ash

I need to get that I had it drying on the pipe cleaner last night! Might be the problem, how do I deep clean rn I use the pipe cleaner with vodka on it

Alcohol and acrylic don’t play well all the time…
I leave cleaners in my car pipe all the time and it doesn’t funk it up.

Hello, I have just gotten into Pipe Smoking. My wife bought me a savinelli one 601. I have been smoking Haunted Bookshop. Now I know I may have messed up smoking a full bowl the first time. I let it rest over night to cool down and cleaned it the next morning. I made sure no black tar/residue was on the pipe cleaners and I leave a fresh one in the stem and bowl to dry out and once it’s dry completely put it back together. I notice if the stem is not connected to the bowl and sip on it it has an ash/smoke taste. Any idea as to why or how to fix? Thank you so much.

Your pipe is obviously defective.
I offer free pipe testing services for pipes valued over $100. Just pack it up and send it to me, and I'll figure out what's wrong with it, even if it takes me 10 years or more. Of course, you'll need to sign a damage waiver, in the event that something happens, or if your pipe is "lost".

Another trick to not burn the rim or have a lot of tar build up is to not fill the bowl to the brim. A two or three nickles thickness is good. If you are picky about the rim appearance take a cloth/paper towel and saliva (which is acidic) and wipe the top every smoke or three.

Warm soapy water and a pipe cleaner will take care of your acrylic stem. One shot of alcohol isnt likely to kill your acrylic stem but repeated alcohol contact leads to micro fissures. Alcohol is fine for vulcanite.
