Thats a slick looking pipe. I picked up a Scottie Cutty in Chicago. I really like the stem/shank design and it smokes like a dream.

Stainless works great- I use it often. I also use carbon fiber tubing (Eltang and Joao Reis both use it also)- a very good material that allows very small shanks that still has good strength....

I have a vintage Swiss made Bernina bent billiard with horn stem that is most unusual. It has not one but two draught holes side by side and they both have aluminium sleeves!
Looking down the shank with the stem removed one can only marvel at the difficulty in getting them in there nice and straight.
