Stanwell with Damaged Horn on Shank

Hi all,

I just won an eBay auction for a Stanwell pipe that I only half-remembered bidding on. I hadn't noticed til I won, but it's got some pretty bad chips in the white horn around the shank. Listing says it's just cosmetic damage, so should still smoke fine, but I was wondering if I might be able to fill in the cracks with something. Doesn't have to be a perfect match, just something solid that will level it out. Pics below

Epoxy putty. It can be sanded flush and mica pigment can be added for color.

If I got one like that, it would be on it's way back to the vendor.

The pipe as a puppy bone / dog toy is funny, but not a joke. I've been sent quite a few of them over the years. One was a Lars Ivarsson.

Yeah, these photos are from the listing. I just didn't look closely enough before bidding. Completely on me, not the seller

$35, shipping and taxes included. Seller appears to be a regular merchant with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Looks like a general antique dealer, but has sold pipes in the past
