They are classic. I found a Shape 36 Selected Briar, with Handcut stem a few years ago, member JP Berg now owns it. Unmistakable shapes!

Danish brands like Stanwell, Pibe Dan and W.O.Larsen are in the enviable position of having so many well-known pipe-makers go through their ranks and design or make pipes under their names.

To buy an Anne Julie, Sixten Ivarsson, Jess Chronowitsh or Tom Eltang (under their own labels) would be out of the reach of many. But a Stanwell designed by ....... Is a viable option and great compromise.

Lucky us Stanwell fans.

I have both Stanwell 35a and 35b.
I'm with you in preferring the Anne Julie design.

The foward cant results in a more elegant and smoother transition from the heel to the shank which then extends to the recurved stem. ???
Nording took the shape and made his Hunting Series Fox. I really like that one as well.
