Tastes like walking into a florist shop. I second mingc's suggestion to try it in a pipe that wont add anything. very pleasant

I just don’t like the taste of St Bruno or Condor I have tried multiple times but there is just something not right about them IMO. I do like Ennerdale and I love Erinmore Flake.

I love it.

For years I never understood why it was considered a lakeland. No perfume or granny soap, just a rich musky smell.

It's taken going back and trying all those degrees of lakeland flake to see that, of course its a lakeland. But it's pretty subtle.

I have a couple of friends over here who have only ever cared for St Bruno and little else. No matter what I throw at them - Germains, Balkan Sobranie, McClellands - nothing trumps the Bruno.

todays version of St Bruno has a very toned down sauce compared with years ago
So I hear. I'd have loved to have tried it.

Funny how often ancient unopened tins of Sobranie, Capstan and Erinmore turn up but I've yet to come across an unopened tin of St Bruno...which says it all really.

I also hear that Erinmore used to be way stronger...which I find hard to believe!

@marconi I like St. Bruno and Condor in my clay pipes; recently tried the Erinmore Flake and like the fact it's still sold in tins and no plastic packaging like the UK St. Bruno Flake...

I have the same experience most pipe smokers I meet on the street smoke St Bruno and nothing else. That might have something to do with the lack of High street tobacconist. The people I know get their St Bruno fix from Londis,Tesco, etc and never use online stores.

@marconi I used to buy OTC pipe baccy at supermarkets or the local Co-Op stores, or the newsagent in Chesterfield that sells loose Gawith Hoggarth blends - something I highly recommend due to the lack of plastic packaging; you can take your own container and get it weighed out (minimum purchase 10g). Dad says when I went to see the Sealed Knot, re-using the empty packet didn't offset the emissions from burning the tobacco!

What Gawith loose blends do they sell?

Another easily accessible tobacco in the neighborhood tobacco store. Not my favorite but I rate them as battle tobacco. In these difficult times for the future of the tobacco world. Its price invites you to buy (5.90) euros for 50g................
