The problem is that they get the saucing absolutely spot on and then put it on the wrong tobacco. I still like St Bruno. But they certainly emasculated the poor fellow.
That sums it up pretty well.
I agree that blends should be judged on their own merits, but with some old favorites that one has smoked, it can be a difficult thing to do. With STG's Escudo, I really miss the wonderful fruitiness that developed over the years in the Perique used by A C Peterson and earlier makers. Escudo was a gold standard blend. Now it's just another blend.

Good You had mentioned the Escudo, now it'll go on my shopping list.As for the Erinmore,I was a bit apprehensive about buying it due to a (bad)reputation of being heavily 'sauced, but to my great surprise,it was far from being that like, anyhow I find it much more enjoyable than say Amphora Full Red.
