I dont see St Bernard by Dan Tobacco mentioned much on any forum. I pulled the trigger and am quite happy with it. I found it to be spot on now, and wonder if or how much better it may become with some age.

Is it a staple in anyone elses cellar?

Been thinking about pulling the trigger on that one, what'd you think of it compared to VaPers you've smoked before? I like Navy Rolls for reference and I believe St Bernard is spun cut as well?

So it is a flake. I would compare it with very aged PS Navy Flake. To my palate, it wasnt grassy or hay like. The perique lended deep dark stewed fruits. The virginia brought a touch of sweetness. In my humble opinion, it was akin to a well aged vaper without having tro wait. Im definitely going to be loading up on this in the near future.

Yes thats right, I was browsing Estervals the other day and got this mixed up with Ropers Roundels (which is coins). Thanks for the info it sounds great, I'll get some for my next order.

Hello all, hope not to insult any experts out there but I find Condor ready rubbed to be a lovely smoke. Dad used it along with St Bruno back in the 1970s although not sure if the make is still going strong?

Both are still available. Condor if you live in the U.K and St Bruno has found its way back to the U.S. I have never heard of St Bernard before. Is it a St Bruno tribute blend or something completely different?

Completely different, it's a va/per. I've always called it a 'poor man's' Escudo. A bit sharp when fresh but mellows out considerably after 3 years or so. I'm quite fond of it, like smoking butter & pepper! Tastes better in one of those monstrous corn cob pipes for some reason.

Dan Tobacco is already getting too popular! I'm having a hard time getting my hands on Limerick Slices already.

Let's try to keep it hush! :ROFLMAO: ?

But if you liked St Bernard, give Limerick a try. It's billed as a virginia flake, but theres definitely a kick of perique to it. Very delightful, reminiscent of a Elizabethan Mixture but in flake form.

I have some old Limerick, maybe 10 years, really great smoke. I've been leaning hard into DT, their VA's really speak to me. I love Veermaster and Patriot Flake as well.

I have smoked a lot of it, both fresh and with 3 years of age. Fresh it is a tad grassy, age deepens and darkens it both in appearance and taste. Also it sweetens a bit. I think I might prefer it fresh. JimInks’s review triggered me buying it, calling it a “sweeter, rougher, spicier version of DLNRs”, and as usual is spot on.

I’ve never seen it before. I keep a lot of Veermaster, Tordenskjold and Limerick. Can you only get St Bernard from Estervals?

Never heard of it myself, I assumed it was just the brand name used in the States.
