This is an invitation to over-think for sure. So, in the spirit of over-thinking it, I'd say, for special occasions I'd tend to smoke a premium tobacco that is also regular and dependable, probably not scarce. If I'm going to smoke the unicorn, that would be the special occasion in itself, and I wouldn't put it on top of a holiday or notable event.

I will go with scarcity. I love FMC and smoke a bowl about once a month. Not necessarily saving it for a special occasion. I would rather smoke it once a month for a few years than smoke it all in a couple of months and have nothing but a memory.
