I have not bought into the limited edition runs, mostly. But this SPC offering looks great, whether limited or not. What shocks me is how much a 2 ounce tin of SPC tobacco is running these days. When did SPC blends begin selling for $8/ounce? And why?

I noticed that on a few other blends as well. Between shipments, Dan Tobacco blends jumped too. Devil's Holiday jumped up $15 more per pound.

It's not new to Galloping Gertie. SPC has been highly priced for a while now. Having said that, I doubt anyone's getting rich off the stuff. The cigar industry is where they gouge you and smokers seem willing to take it. Pipe smokers are cheap bastards.
Yes, we are, mostly. But, that said, I have paid that much before on other blends. Just not for SPC blends. It is more that I am not used to seeing these prices for what heretofore was a cheaper purchase.

Still not bad in comparison $16 for 18 ish bowls. Still less than a buck a pipe. I get what you are saying through

I noticed the minimum wage in Calif. went up from $11 to $13, and is already set to go to $15 in a year or two.
Hold on to your wallets.
Now, the price of our milk, beer, and tobacco, will inflate as this political sickness creates nothing but inflation, and dwindles most people's bank accounts.
Seems people are too stupid to figure that out when voting - along with the fact that bonds are loans that we taxpayers get to pay. Unless promoted, you never get a raise for long with a min wage increase. Of course no politician would ever want this taught in schools.

Last few years... anyone watch the price on a six pack of craft beer? That has been most alarming to me. It's like run away inflation gobbling up what little savings anyone might have accumulated :/

Guys in the middle keep getting squeezed tighter and tighter as the bottom comes up it just makes more people at the new bottom is all. A raise almost never seems to keep up with costs. Harder and harder for working middle class family's indeed.

Tobacco as an industry is making hay while the sun shines, seeing likely trouble ahead. Since pipe tobacco has been a thrifty way to smoke, they judge they have some wiggle room, for a while, to pump up the prices. If the supply chain gets squeezed -- pipe shops and online retail -- then the prices may soar or slump for shear unavailability. As I am often reminded, for a $20 tin (still pricey in U.S.) which delivers about twenty chambers of pipe smoking, you can buy only one or two premium cigars. That makes it seem like 18 free smokes!

1,I was never that impressed with most of SPC line up so regardless of pricing I do not buy nor cellar their product.
2. In a few years you will be begging for the current prices.

We pay less for tobacco than just about anywhere else on the planet and all we do is bitch about it. No wonder blenders are happy to send their product to other markets. If you think you're getting a bad deal, don't take the deal. It's not like tobacco is bread. You can live without tobacco.
I did not make a judgment about whether it is a bad deal or not. Just surprised since I have not considered SPC blends subs since I last purchased it over 2 yrs ago. And most blends have remained somewhat constant over that same time. Just an observation.
