Huber and Vogel's are great options. They're close enough to my brother that I can ask him to go for me and not feel bad about making him do it. Plus, if he physically goes into a store in Germany, he has a form that he can use to avoid VAT.

Other places and he has to plan a trip and probably can't use his form. A good example is he'll be in Paris for a week this December which is a trip he has been planning on for a few months and his form doesn't apply there. His form has something to do with only being valid in the country he's stationed in.

There's some Motzek blends that sound good besides Strang.

I think member @karam has reviewed a few for us if I remember correctly.

I've got plenty of HU from Estervals along with Dan Tobac's Ascanian line from them.

SG St James plug is on my list but it looks like I can get it from from Synjeco.
Yes, indeed. I reviewed a few of their ropes: Dark twist (a 1:1 Perique:DFK bomb), Halo twist (a very nice VaPer), and Sweet crushed twist (a mostly Va with a bit of Per and "baking spices"). I also had Micha's cake (a rum-soaked crumble cake) and the 16/5 Der Neue which I find to be very similar to HU's Director's Cut. I like them all very much.

Synjeco's house ropes made by Gawith are excellent indeed as @alaskanpiper says, @Ahi Ka knows them well too! Also Synjeco's Bab nun II made by Gawith is great for a very stoved VaPer flake, and I know @greeneyes can talk about Bad nun I, which I didn't try so far.

Being in Switzerland I am pretty much covered by Synjeco and other local shops, but Estervals still has a few things I really like, like HU Janneman Flake, Dan Ascanian No2, Dan StBernard Flake and some of the MacBaren line. For Huber's Golden Virginia, which I love, I need to get it sent to a colleague who lives across the border in Germany because they won't send it to me.

Why would you even bother when you can get all the flavors of Captain Black, Half and Half, Carter Hall. The list of the best American blends is endless. we have nothing but the best and the OTC's are very special indeed.

Sorry to be rude, being new here and all, but I got my opinions and I can stand behind them. And I call BS.
Why create artificial borders when this vast world of taste exists? We get to enjoy all these tastes because every individual has his own idea of the whole concept.
I make most of my own tobacco products myself and I objectively like them. It's all early beginner stuff right now but I aim to find and make a fine product and make it even better, maybe even make it into something that others might also enjoy. Something I can proudly share, feeling honored if anyone would even consider just trying it, giving opinions.

And if they liked it, it would mean a hell of a lot to me. Giving me the drive to get even better at this fine craft
so that the general level of joy in this world can be elevated.
And the kind of mentality or philosophy that you displayed there is a barrier that shouldn't be, in my humble opinion. At least not in the world of taste.

Whatever, just my canned beer thoughts. Good day/night and joy be with you all.

Choosing the blends isn't the issue. Finding a source is.

I can get HU and Synjeco shipped to me in the US. I can't find anyone who carries brands/blends like Motzek that will ship to the US.

Tom at Motzek ships to the USA. At least he did about a year ago. I placed two orders. DHL handled the transportation from Germany to the USA, and USPS handled the domestic transport.

Ordering was pretty easy. Use the translate function in your web browser, then place the order. Tom emails you the amount owed, then I use a cheap bank transfer like Wise or Xoom to settle up.

Shipping is about $40-ish, but with the Euro down so much against the dollar, landed cost pricing is still comparable to domestic online retailers for 50g, 100g unit costs.
