Gotta love these 'off topic' thread heros. P&C has unfortunately many people unhappy with their daily practice of bad packaging and unfilled orders. This wont help.

Sorry, but I was just offering an observation based on my own experience. I think differing opinions are still valued on this forum, and I'm really not one to dogpile on negative stuff.
As far as the 'topic,' I touched on their pricing, which is a part of the issue. But there's an old adage about not saying anything if one can't say something nice, and for me in this context it applied to the OP, with whom I sympathize and with whom I didn't wish to quarrel or appear critical. I would just point out that the add says nothing about applying a discount to an already discounted price. If they wanted to do that I would think they'd just say '35% Off MSRP' or whatever, not 20% off of 20% off. Misleading, perhaps, to advertise an already existing discount, but I wouldn't say it's deceptive - though I'm no lawyer. They're trying to drum up business in any way they can, I suppose.
And no, @Casual , I don't get a discount or any other benefit, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I just had a different take on the matter. I guess I've been lucky in my dealings with them... Peace?

Never had a problem with an order getting filled and shipped in a reasonable amount of time, or getting jammed for a higher price than advertised, but their packaging is awful. I've had many tins dented due to the thin, flimsy box getting smashed in transit.

Clarificaton: P&C didn't post the ad here, one of the forum members posted it. It caught my attention so I went to the P&C web site. Sure enough there is was on the home page in the form of a rotating banner. clear as day, 20% off.... yeah, right!

I've only ordered once from P&C. I ordered a pound of PS LBF, and it arrived in quite a state. It was in a plastic bag, sealed at the top and then the excess bag was rolled down and taped. However, the bottom part of the bag was open/burst/cut. The tobacco was loose in the box, which itself wasn't completely sealed.

Naturally, I wasn't happy. I contacted them immediately, and they sent me another pound immediately. Once it was handled, and I cooled down, I realized there is a good chance some eunuch working for the federal government may have inspected my package and did what was done to my tobacco.

Either way, they completely understood how I felt and sent me a fresh pound which arrived just fine. Most of the tobacco from the first pound, honestly, was fine. I got all the debris out of it, and it's at the absolute driest point I still consider it smoke-able without rehydration.

Ultimately, I'm happy to have another competitor available in any market. Not to cast any shade on smokingpipes, they are the best, but to say they are the best is relative. If they become the only competitor, the best becomes whatever they're willing to offer, and that's true of any industry.

A while back, I bought a Tsuge E-Star from them. But their selection doesn't thrill me. They don't sell the one kind of tobacco I want, so I haven't bought from them since.

However, I did notice their ad schemes. A bit disingenuous.
