Since I started buying artisan pipes I have learned how to take care of a pipe. It has its rewards. Besides, I am a career insurance agent but self-insure my pipe collection. At $350 a pop, I am very careful and don't bang the bowl on ash trays. I use a dull pipe knife. Regardless of what you pay for a pipe, if you love it you must treat it like it was crystal or accept the consequences. Been there and done that so many time. But, no more!
