So true. Like when you are working and you get that one spot on your back that itches and you can't find your rule. That's when a churchwarden really proves it's utility.

The closest thing to a churchwarden I own is this Tsuge 4-Knuckle Squat Tomato. It’s never been smoked (don’t know why) and it’s been in my collection 20+ years. Perhaps I should remedy this?

I love churchwardens! They're absolutely perfect for reading. The German name for them is "lesepfeifen" or "reading pipes." I made this stand for a couple of mine...

Savinelli Churchwardens are amazingly good. I kind of had bad luck with them until I got one of their 404 shape CW's. Smokes great and love the acrylic stem. I'd get one of the Peterson's, too, if they weren't all vulcanite (I like the D17 shape).

What a beautiful night sky! The decision to end the day with a pipe and a glass of old armagnac on the back patio sounds like the perfect way to unwind and savor the moments.
