One of my pet peeves is telling new members to "Google it". If they did that, most of the magic of this forum would go away.

I've cleaned up a bunch of ebay acquisitions over the last 10 yrs. I have had successes and a few failures.
I keep a Butner stainless steel reamer on hand for when a bowl gets a little too caked up to my liking, and all sorts of sandpaper and mircomesh pads, pipe cleaners, tea candles, and on and on. You putter with 'em once in awhile to keep 'em going.

Oh and I'll ad, I love the warm water flush for my pipes. I don't use any other method.

Don't let salt soak overnight in your cobbs. Cobbs structure are not as solid as briar and it can crack a cobb. I suggest not even cleaning the cobb pipe with salt.

The best way to clean your pipe is with rubbing alcohol and salt—just shake it in a bag, rinse, and you're good! You can also soak it in hot water, use baking soda & vinegar, or scrub with pipe cleaners. Just make sure to rinse well and let it dry. Easy and done!

The pipe won't melt.

I'd just use regular water though. Warm or hot water is ok.

I've never considered putting vinegar in my pipes... IMO that sounds terrible.

Vinegar is best to clean the pipe but its up to you how much quality you can use.
