For those cold, cricketless nights, some Bunnysuit fills the void:

Sigur Ros works well too:

Bluesmaster Joe Bonamassa is my go to right now. Really enjoyed his new "Blues of Desperation" album release today along with Gawith St. James Flake.

That was a good one, Hawke. Music such as that is the kind that can take us away from our cars, computers, internet, electricity, and all the modern devices that have become "us," and remind us that we are part of something far greater that we take for granted. Earth.

I usually listen to mellow music while smoking but this is an epic video.
Even us old codgers cut loose sometimes.

I enjoy having Dave Matthews or Harry Chapin playing while relaxing on the deck in the summer. For early mornings I enjoy YoYo ma performing the Bach cello suites. For more energy days I like having Flogging Molly or the Pogues blasting in the garage while tinkering on the bike.

Some great music on this thread. The so far today it's been Indigo Girls (12:00 Curfew), Vivaldi (4 Seasons), and Enya (the best of). Maybe some Lindsey Stirling next......

Wow.... Liking lots of this stuff so far.
@jessicac - Pricefield reminds me of parts of the local music scene in Bloomington, Indiana in the Nineties. Dark and melodic with sinister undertones, hauntingly beautiful. Thank You.

Love Faith No More. They're all in their 50's now and still rocking! Now, if only we can get another Mr. Bungle album.

We are bombarded with distracting noise at the office, music or talk radio shows in your car, rude people in supermarkets and the news on the telly worst of all, smoking being one of my meditative amusements and a distraction of the rat race we all partake in leads me to sit outside on my porch and listening to gentle sound of evening silence, if I am really fortunate I might be distracted by a low flying bat or night jar or crickets merrily chirping away... Smoking this heinous habit of ours led me to appreciate the free things in life.

Just "discovered" Dave Pike....... Love this stuff in the evenings.

At the end of the day, when its "me" time, I find the instrumentals are welcome. My mind is one that works too hard to catch every word in a song, and sometimes that just distracts from a good, relaxing smoke..... :puffy:
