So does anyone use a ”solera” method to mix their aged cellared tobaccos with younger newer tobacco of the same brand and blend? So, if I have a small amount (an ounce or less) of a cellared Plum Pudding and I purchase a new tin of Plum Pudding, can I or should I mix them? Is this done with pipe tobacco?

What about mixing the small leftover amounts (a bowl or two worth) from the same type, regardless of brand to make a “solera” blend of English or Balkan? Anyone do this?

I've tossed an aged flake in with a fresh batch while jarring, hoping for a sourdough-starter effect. Not sure if it did anything.

As i never reuse jars, I ration out tobacco when getting near the end of the jar or tin to have mostly full chambers to smoke before opening a new jar or tin, no mixing.
