Any secret stashes that you know of, any match blends that hit the nail on the head, I’d like to try the actual product before something “close but not really close”.

I realize it’s that chocolate note and i get that from Presbyterian and The Red Hunt so this was more about trying something new in that range, not life or death

Thoughts on it in general?

To me, it's the closest thing available to the dearly departed Edgeworth Sliced. Wessex Burley Slice is a close second. I have a tin of Savinelli Jupiter Antique Burley to try at some point as well. By far, my favorite genre of tobacco.

I have some older great burleys that I'd part with...including 28g of Solani Burley Flake (2008).

also 36g Wessex Burley Slices (2007) and 37 g of Edgeworth Slices (2019)(discontinued) PM if interested. All have been mason jarred.

I smoke a number of Virginia/Burley/Kentucky blends but no straight Burleys. I tried ABF and Wessex Slices years ago and gave away both tins. For some reason they both tasted like shit to me. I honestly didn't ever figure out why.

We’ll see if they are in my wheelhouse, have to at least try them, can’t say you don’t like Kona crusted steak till your try it. For the record i wasn’t a fan, waste of a fabulous hunk of beef.

I think it is good. I prefer it to Mac Baren's HH Burley Flake which I find too sour for my tastes. To me it resembles Mac Baren's Golden Blend, but better.

I should point out that the topping on ABF has been changed:

Same goes for Wessex Burley Slices:

When did it change (Solani)?
