I'm having a thought about taking a 1" thick round of cedar and turning it into a 2-6 pipe (depending on the diameter of the round) stand with an ashtray in the middle. Probably to be set on a coffee table for when friends are over and everyone's smoking a bowl together. Would many people here find that to be useful? Or do you usually smoke alone?

The only time I ever smoke a pipe is with a couple of the guys in the cigar lounge at the local B&M, so it wouldnt be of much use in my home, but a pipe rack/ashtray combo is a hell of an idea and I think it could be great. If you have other friends who smoke a pipe along with you, I think you got a home run on your hands. I say do it!

I think it's a great idea. Even if your friends don't smoke with you, it would still be nice to have. I'm thinking about a pipe rack/stand myself. It will be nice when PAD(pipe acquisition disorder) hits.

It will be nice to be able to put the ideas into practice and refine them, to see what looks best and what's useful and wasted. I finally have something to do with those cedar logs sitting outside. Fist pump.

That sounds like a cool idea. I agree with Al, like to see some pics. And I envy the fact that you have 2-6 pals to enjoy a bowl with. Enjoy...

Don't forget to put a cork pipe knocker in the middle!
