Hi all... happy to be joining this group from the Los Angeles area. 2020 may suck for most things, but at least I've got my health, the weather is good, and pipe tobacco is abundant and reasonably priced (at least online). Been smoking the better part of 25 years, both cigars and pipes. While I prefer the cigar when smoking with buddies (which is rare now), I find myself smoking my pipes daily (sometimes hourly) as it's honestly good for my soul. The simple act of taking time for a smoke helps to keep my thoughts clear and my stress managed. Working from home, I've been blessed with the opportunity to enjoy this hobby probably more than I should. No complaints about that.
Anyhow, I'm a big fan of the straight virginias and Va/Pers (so a huge fan of the Ken Byron offerings), and some of the orientals (McC Drama Reserve is one of my favorite). Not a huge latakia-forward guy, so I generally shy away from the English blends. I've had a bunch, generally speaking I've enjoyed them, but rarely feel the need to go back for more. And it's worth noting, I've got absolutely no ability to explain what I taste. Easy to say if I loved a tobacco, liked it, hated it, etc... but don't ask me why.
Happy Piping.
