speaking of Reeses Cup
I really dig those new Reeses offerings - the Sticks with the wafers and the ones with the pretzels inside
They remind me of an older discontinued favorite of mine - Whatcha'macallit - remember that one?
To me, the quality of both the chocolate and peanut butter in Reeses have declined markedly. This coincided with the introduction of all those new Reeses-branded spinoffs. And what happened to the dark chocolate Reeses cups? So good and yet so short-lived. The good do die young.

You'd think dark chocolate versions of things would be a no-brainer, but apparently not. Maybe it can't be processed as easily.

We have Aero bars here, milk chocolate with bubbles in it. There's Milk, there's Mint, occasionally there's Orange, but never Plain. I would love to ask an assistant for an Aero Plain.

At least I can get my preferred soap bars, Pears, in Mint. A bit hard to find sometimes; I keep a buffer stock and top up.

Dark chocolate costs more to produce, that’s all.

A person can develop a real addiction to a product. For me it was Boraxo hand soap. I've used it all my life and was crushed when they decided to stop making it after over 100 years. Overnight a 5 pound box (about 3 years worth) went from $15 to over a hundred dollars. I figured someone would take up the slack and I was right. After about a year of off and on looking on the web I found what looked like a good substitute. Bought a 5lb. box and am happy to say it's pretty good. So, all is right with the world again. puffy

It's very interesting how this thread relates to pipe tobacco. When the aroma changes, when the flavor changes, we're hypersensitive to it and it triggers deep emotions. I've had the same reactions when my favorite cleaning product's smell changed, or when they started f(cking around with Reeses Cups. I get a similar feeling when Amazon Prime or Facebook changes sh*t for no reason, but not to the same, emotionally driven extent. Flavors and aromas are serious stuff, man.
I guess it was about 6 years ago when I stopped in at the gas station and bought a couple of Butterfingers.
My immediate reaction was WTF??
I looked online, and sure enough, they’d sold out to Ferrer Roche.
The chocolate was wrong and the crisp was more gooey than any Butterfinger I’d ever had.
The only Butterfinger I’ve had in years has been in a Blizzard.

Everything it getting smaller. Bought a pack of Twizzlers the other day and they are much smaller around than they used to be. Of course, the price is a little higher. :(

I can deal with product shrinkage. But when they fundamentally change the product, and keep the same name on it, I get pissed. It's why we worked so hard to make the Standard Tobacco products as true to the originals as humanly possible, and still we did not entirely succeed. It's a tricky business with old, extinct products, but Hershey's, Mars, etc have no such excuses. they just don't give a flying f*ck about quality or consistency.

What I wouldn't give to have the original Clark bar back again.
