Logic puzzles (like nonograms), motorcycle, music (though I haven't been playing much the past 2 years), philosophy, math (less so doing it and more so philosophy/logic behind it, like how "proofs" are done [proofs in scare quotes because Gödel's incompleteness theorems—but it's still fun to think about things like how the strong "Goldbach conjecture" might be proved]).

Actually that's the biggest and main one, philosophy and logic.

Riding one of my Harleys down a long winding road is my favorite, next month we're off to Robbinsville NC. and Deals Gap to ride the Dragon's Tail.

I also like to wind down after work with a good book on the back porch Iced Tea and a pipe or tinkering around our "little hide-a-way" in the Texas pines. Only 16 acres we're in partnership with the bank on for 5 1/5 more years then we're the sole propietors and it's time for fulltime retirement.

I don't think of anything that I do as hobbies. I have interests, like pipes and the history of pipes and the pipe and tobacco trade. Other interests are reading, mostly history these days, but also mysteries, and science fiction and fantasy. I've been catching up on some of the shows I didn't have time to watch. I've also begun to do some writing, which doesn't come naturally, and which makes it more interesting.

I'm surrounded by the collecting activities of former years, signed 1st editions, antiques, books on art, movies, and photography, DVDs, etc, but have no interest in adding to what I have, quite the opposite. I got rid of 3/4 of my stuff before the move.

After decades of sometimes frantic levels of activity under highly pressured circumstances, I'm embracing being lazy.

I've earned the privilege.

Hmmm...I suppose breathing and simply being could be a form of hobby.

I've been considering commissioning the one I made in Fallen Order with an orange Neopixel blade.
Neopixel is the way to go. Get a heavy polycarbonate blade if you want to swing it around without breaking it. I'm looking for a Dooku lightsaber if I'm to get into that dueling club. It has a nice curve in the hilt like a French hilt for fencing.

Antique hand tools, wood working, metal working, gunsmithing, repairing/restoring guitars and tube amps, playing guitar and bass, building/riding vintage motorcycles.

My wife says my actual hobby is collecting hobbies… I’m not a huge fan of sitting still and I don’t have kids, so… I’ve never turned down the opportunity to learn a skill.

I do several things that some would call hobbies.
I buy, fix, and sell old cars/trucks....or anything with an engine. Ive been doing less the last few years, but plan on picking up on it.
Ive collected Hotwheels for decades. My collection has went from 30,000 cars to around 10,000 the last few years.
I shoot competitively, mostly IDPA and Cowboy Action these days. Those are available locally. And collect firearms, sort of, im very selective.
Over the last 2 decades our hobby farm has grown to just a farm. :)
Oh, I hunt, but I don't consider that a hobby. I hunt for food....full of good minerals and other micro nutrients not available anywhere else.
I think that's it.

I started Juijitsu classes about 6 months ago at 51 yrs old. It was definitely an eye opener. I mean getting tapped out or strangled by a fella half my age is definitely sobering. However, it’s been a wake up call and usually very enjoyable. I feel great during class and after class I’m so relaxed and humbled. Learning skills and getting more fit as I travel into the last 3rd of life is great! Keep in mind you’re going to get banged up a bit. Couldn’t recommend it enough. 👍☕
Forgot to mention, I golf too…however I suck at. It’s still fun to get out there though. 🤣👍☕

I think people don't seem to understand what a "hobby" is.

A hobby is anything you do regularly in your leisure time (any time not spent doing work or chores or in school), for pleasure. Engaging in an interest IS doing a hobby by definition.

I don't get why people get so hung up on "hobby" like it can only apply to something like stamp/card collecting or playing a sport, or why they're so reticent to admit that something is a hobby, or how negatively people seem to view the term.

If you do it regularly in your free time, and you're doing it for pleasure, it's a hobby by definition.

Is taking shits a hobby?

Just kidding.

There must be a line though.
