After a couple of weeks of overcast gloomy skies, we finally had a clear night here. I could see the conjunction with my naked eyes and with my binoculars I could see as one of Jupiter's moons as well. Not as interesting as seeing one the mega unit satellite trains, however. A hunting friend of mine called me and said he could see some of Saturn's rings through the scope of his deer hunting rifle.

Imma let you in on a secret. For people who aren't really into astronomy there's only about a half dozen or so items in the night sky worth looking at through a telescope.

The rest are the result of sophisticated time lapse photography and filters.

I took a look at it. Meant more to me because I knew it won't happen again in my lifetime. A bowl of 1-Q was a great pairing.

I’m never impressed by sunsets, so it’s easy to see that I wasn’t impressed by this. Isn’t every night a totally unique arrangement of astrological stuff?

Anyways, hopefully we will get three wiseguys out of it. Hopefully, not Moe Larry and Curley.

I agree, I’m not really into space stuff but just realizing the last time this happened gengis khan was tearing shit up is pretty wild.

No cloud banks, but a lot of ambient street lights and neighboring houses, and no horizon and lots of tall trees, so though I scanned around the Southwest sky I had no sighting. The next step was binoculars, but never had the need. In better times, groups of amateur astronomers will gather at a promontory and assist others in seeing the show, but that's not going.
