Never tried scenting snuff myself buster.

Will look forward to how your efforts work out.
I've both the Plain and the Sweet from Garretts and they serve me well as they are. The dusky, smokey hickory comes through well in both, the sweet is a bit milder from molasses IIRC.

I love a well made high dry toast and some of the scented snuffs from Fribourg and Treyer. I have also made snuff from Samuel Gawith Best Brown flake and Solani 633 Va/Per. Just lightly toast and grind to a powder. Then sift through progressively finer screens. You are left with a very nice dry powdered snuff similar to high dry toast. And if you are taking snorts big enough to make a slobbering mess of yourself, you are probably taking way to big of a snort. Just a little pinch and a light sniff is all you need. Once in a while when you are home it is nice to take a nice big ol' blast and let your eyes water and the room turn upside down for a min. But I suggest being at home because the brown jellyfish that is about to be blown from your nose is sure to offend at least one poor unsuspecting public bystander.

I've tried the dry stuff a couple times and I liked it. It was a pretty regular thing to see older German men doing when I lived over there. I lost track of it here in the States until I saw a guy in another band I was sharing a venue with doing some. I thought he was doing something illegal at first, but he handed me the tin and I recognized it and took a sniff myself. It wasn't irritating and the nic kick really wasn't that bad.

I have been snuffing a lot lately and got hooked on it thanks to the generosity of a forum member. Anyone who has never tried it should give Toque Spanish Gem a shot. Very sweet honey with a hint of chocolate, its got a great smell and appreciable nic content. For my money, as a man who loves his menthol snuff, nothing beats McChrystals Original and Genuine, at least in my mind.

I went through a huge 'bout of SAD quite some time back that cu,minated with me purchasing a large variety of snuff.

All manner of grinds and scents, only actually came across one out of the many I didn't care for, the rest all had good aspects to em'. Enjoyed that explore a lot.

Even though I still have a large variety to choose from as a result, I tend to stay mainly with Sam Gawiths's SP Scotch. Medium grind toast with the added, I believe, bergamot oil for the slight citrus note of an SP.

I made a good size order from Mr. Snuff a few months back and have found some locally as well. I enjoy the medicated German and English a lot. I found the W.E.Garrett and picked it up. Dusty is a good discription OTD. I found a pinch is better with this style than to take it from the back of the hand. I saw a forum topic on adding flavor to scotch snuffs and thought it would be interesting to try. It said that they absorb flavors indirectly if put in a Tupperware sealed with flavorings in it. Adding essential oils directly to the snuff is suppose to be more involved and messy. I'll see how it turns out and post the results in about a week.
I am so hooked on snuff I will be making a large order soon! I like that the English brands offer larger quantities at a very good prices!

If anyone has some snuff to get rid of, I will be willing to trade some baccy for it
Hold that thought for a little while. Let me look through my snuff tins and see what I have available. I may be able to send you a sampler of some stuff I have and then we can talk baccy if you like.

I was thinking about trying some chew tobacco, but im kinda scared to be completely honest. I've had some bad BAD experiences wth american "dip", even though they're two different things entirely. Just sorta scared me off of oral tobacco. Any suggestions or pointers mlyvers?

You guys might want to check out snuff house forums. The owners of toque and Mr. Snuff are members. Lots of information there to sort threw. I just placed an order a few days ago mostly of strong menthol snuffs. There was a topic on super strong menthol snuffs so I made a list from that for my order. I found that some English snuffs are great quality and if you buy in larger tins quite inexpensive. I have have been using an Ozona pocket tap tin and refilling it with what ever flavor I want to cary with me. Ozona orange is a nice flavor, and when you empty it you can refill it!

Id been casually thumbing through some threads over at snuffhouse buster. Good stuff going on there. Also +1 on the snuff being inexpensive! I was surprised honestly.
