It is and for some reason everything taste great from that pipe...grain got nothing to do with it....Lestrade is still a virgin but I will get to it one day...The only Deluxe system I have is 9BC from 40s with bone extension
Oooo that sounds like another beaut! Any pics of it?

There was one smaller shaped natural De luxes for sale on SP Europe today...I do not believe that natural Darwin de luxe on estate pipes on SP is still there after 28 hours!!I was looking for one for years and everytime it showed up which was very rare it sold in less than an hour...I guess it reflects the shape of todays economy when buying power of most people went to hell..

I have been looking for the same for at least 2 months casually. What I see is that buying right from Peterson may be the best option, at least online. I may be wrong, but I think the grain patterns are best on the site. Let me know if I am mistaken.

When I bought my Deluxe 11fb, I found it direct on Peterson’s site. Even that many years ago there was much angst about a lack of good briar (or at least labor to harvest the burls). I would say the supply of Deluxe pipes has held up remarkably well over the last 10 years. Thank goodness those calling the shots are holding the line in quality.

Be careful buying directly from the Peterson site, those are stock photos. The pipe you see is NOT he pipe you get. But if it’s on the Peterson site it’s also on smoking pipes EU site and that is the pipe you get pictured.

Yup exactly.

Although, what’s the deal when they have a pipe on Peterson.ie but the pipe is not showing on SPE? Never figured that one out.

Sherlock Holmes Naturals? They’ve been missing for too long as well.
I think the blame lies with the new Polish workforce & their passion for rusticating everything they can get their hands on! At least, you’d be forgiven for thinking so.
Yeah there are tons of rusticated pipes these days!

It could be due to a shortage in briar (I heard this somewhere), a higher standard for rating briars (not strong evidence for that IMO), or both.

I've picked up a 5s dark, smooth and 9s natural smooth in the last 4 months, not really looking for any more but easier to find from UK and other overseas sellers.
