As a couple of you might know, I caught the Barling bug and have been building a small collection of family and corporate era classics. Nothing horribly fancy, but some decent pieces I found for a good price. I have yet to buy any of the new Kopp Barling's, but saw they are sale at smoking pipes.

Snagged this Guinea Grain Rhodesian for over $100 off.

I know it's a completely different pipe than what came before but sometimes reboots are good and I love the brand so I decided to give them a try. Just wanted to put the word out in case anyone was on the fence and wanted to grab one on sale.

To my untrained eye, they look like beautiful pipes.

I just cant get past the stem emblem Protruding from it.

Nice pipe. The logo doesnt bother me

I do especially dislike the modern italian duck. They really ruin the profile of a pipe

I also dont like stanwell logos even though they are not raised. Something about them bugs me

Same here. I actually like the lion logo. L'Anatra on the other hand. What a beautiful pipe ruined by the "duck".002-023-1539.8509.jpg

The old emblems were flat on the stem.
Someone had a wacked out idea to make it stand up
Aside from just looking weird it seems to me something to get caught on something else or break.

Well, the pipe came in today and it's far more impressive in person than in the online pictures. I've only smoked one inaugural bowl of Charing Cross in it, but so far it smokes fantastically. The feel of the pipe is very high quality and though it's made in Italy, it comes across as a high end classic British pipe. I personally love it and highly recommend people check them out. I'd put it on par with my Dunhills and Castellos, which may sound like blasphemy to some; but it's really that good. I hope to get a few more in the future as long as my wife doesn't kill me for another pipe purchase....
