Hello.

I'm about to place a bulk order for some tobacco from Smokingpipes.com. Most of them I'm not familiar with. I smoke any type of tobacco from the most aromatic to the most natural and everything in between. Would you recommend a few blends?
Please.

Seems to me that this is something you should suss out well before placing a bulk order, rather than just prior to pulling the trigger. Just to use myself as an example, I made my way through many small samples of many different blends (and different kinds of blends) before deciding on a few to go really deep on. Since you say you like a wide variety of blend genres, I certainly recommend this strategy, and it'll give you a decent chance to figure out some stuff you really like, perhaps stuff that stands out from all the rest, and you'll be in a more comfortable position to stock up a little bit later. Especially with the inevitable sitewide sales that will come up as the holiday season draws near.

Since I live in Argentina, shipping costs and time make this recommendation impossible. It is economically unviable. I may have expressed myself poorly, but the idea is to buy in bulk format as opposed to canned tobacco.

Okay, gotcha. I see what you mean. I would still recommend sampling blends via bulk, and you are wise to go for the bulk option rather than tinned tobaccos. You can get as little as 1 oz. at a time, which would afford you the opportunity to see if you like something, rather than ordering a pound of something, not liking it so much, and wondering what the hell you're going to do with 15.8 oz. of tobacco you don't really care for! @AroEnglish has given you a good launch pad above--I would add the following three:

1) Mac Baren Plumcake
2) Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake
3) Sutliff Balkan Sobranie Original Mix Match

Hope this helps!

I usually just grab what's on sale if it's something I like or a small batch release. Carolina red flake comes out in a week or 2 so you might want to wait if that's something your interested in as to not make two orders back to back

Not knowing budget, here are great available “bang for the buck” bulks that make great cellar stuffers:

Virginia:
-Sutliff 507C
-Newminster 400
-Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flakes
-Mac Baren Virginia #1
-C&D Yorktown

Virginia Perique:
-Sutliff Match Victorian
-C&D Exclusive

Red Virginias:
-Sutliff 515-RC-1
-C&D Winchester (red va/unflavored black cavendish)

…can’t help much with burleys, Latakia blends, and “flavored” aromatics as they’re not my jam.

Of the bulks offered by them, I personally prefer burleys with a nice kick—so I go for mainly the c&d “power burleys”. If you’re into that sort of thing, I like big n burley, dark burley (out of stock lately), and old Joe krantz. If you like deer tongue, crooner is also good. Billy budd for me is an interesting one too. It has less nicotine but a nice combo of Latakia and cigar leaf that I find a nice change of pace

I second all those who have advised getting samplers.
There are tobacconists eg Boswells who sell in bulk. But also offer sampler packs of their blends.
You SHOULD try before putting in a bulk order.

I recommend an ounce or two of C&D's Crooner, at least - the deertongue is good stuff. Adds a light note of like... mint or cinnamon or something to it.
