"So I loaded some Orlik Racing Green into a pipe and enjoyed it in my garage."
That's probably how you caught your cold in the first place.
Get well soon chum :puffy:

Four days and running. Congestion and sniffles. Consistent cough that has now sunk into my chest. Frothy. Painful. Fever yesterday. No way am I smoking right now and was curious what other do.

I think a few days off pipe smoking while you get rid of a bug is actually a good way to clear your taste buds and come back to the leaf refreshed. Not a bad thing at all. Sure wouldn't smoke on top of a cough or respiratory congestion. Give yourself a break. Drink a lot of water; sleep more than usual; keep eating a good diet; and get well sooner. Then pack that pipe.

I don't smoke when I get proper sick, but if I am just 'sniffly' then the pipe is a nice little perk during what feels like a bit of a shitty day

I read in an online copy of "Pipe Lover's Magazine" (1946 to 48) that smoking one bowl kills 1/3 of the bacteria in the mouth (% of brain cells undetermined). Perhaps this is a healthy practice when a case of the sniffles is coming on?
