Ok, I sent a couple in and they were unboxed Wednesday.
It's been a couple years since I sent some in. I used to do it with a degree of regularity. Seems way back yonder, pre-pandemic, it would usually take a 2 or 3 days tops to get your offer.
If it were logistically feasible and they paid a living wage, I would totally go work for SPC.

I sent in 10 pipes that they received on 6/26 and I received a completed evaluation on 7/20.
I believe that an increase in estate submissions, perhaps coupled with some staffing issues led to temporary processing delay. However, I can only say that both Shane and Sykes were extremely responsive and professional. Smoking Pipes is really the gold standard as a business and a business model.
Right yeah, Sykes and Shane covered the backlog issue in this thread - sounded like they were in the process of reaching a solution.
Patience was always a virtue but lately it's becoming more of a commodity.

I was pretty determined to downsize so I stuck to my guns and took the cash. Converted my sold pipes into a decent espresso machine.
I wasn't really sweating the turnaround on the sale and they promptly replied to my email after a couple weeks to let me know about the status. I was told they were working through several large lots of pipes sent in.
