I'm fortunate enough to have a 10'x12' shed in the back yard to lounge in. Here in Florida most the times for me it is too humid or raining so sitting outside isn't an option. I've got some fans in the shed to help cool me off. On my way to work in the morning I'll load up a small bowl and smoke on my 30 minute drive. Sometimes it can definitely be a juggling act to tamp and relight but luckily I have plenty of stop lights that allow for that. Hope you get zen area back soon.

I spent a year working at a retirement firm in Atlanta out of college. I lived 7 miles from the office and it took me a solid hour to get home in the evenings. I smoked MANY pipes to pass the time. These days I don’t smoke in the car. I would much rather sit on a front porch.

When driving in the rain I just keep the window cracked a tiny bit. If I pull up somewhere while it is raining and I want to keep puffing, I will probably look for a tree or an eave to rest under, I like smoking in the rain if not getting wet. I couldn't get very scientific on this, but I like the way a smoke can be affected by humidity, "rain air", dry crisp winter air etc etc. The more I smoke the less I need blend variety to find smoke variety. Now that was a bold statement.

Often smoke in my car, be it a short trip errand or a road trip.
It's peaceful, relaxing and helps curb the urge to greet other drivers with the one finger salute. Road rage incidents are on the rise around the country and it is undoubtedly better to drive with some equanimity. I very often fill my pipe an hour or so before the end of the workday and enjoy it all or most of the way home/

I smoke in my car with the windows up. It's too hot here in Florida. By the way, my car smells terrible lately. Probably all this fire cured stuff and the ashtray full of rotting dottle. I'm all alone in this world so there is no one to nag me about it. Oh well.

Hurts resale value. Though if you drive the rims off a car (ie high mileage) that’s not a big concern. I tend to drive em for three years, then trade in before the gremlins start appearing (Though that failed miserably when I bought a Neon back in the 90’s? The instrumental cluster went out before I’d put 100 miles on that POS. But I was young, and didn’t have the foresight to return it under lemon laws)
