I have a friend from another forum who has been smoking pipes a lot longer then I have and I noticed he was smoking a braided chewing tobacco called "Mammoth Cave" which I remember my Great Grandfather chewing when I was knee high to a grasshopper.

I saw some Mammoth Cave the other day and bought it to give it a try. I haven't lit up yet, but I was wondering if anyone else around here had smoked tobacco labeled for chewing or if there were any thoughts on it.

….where can Mammoth Cave and King B be purchased?
I live in Kentucky, where the actual Mammoth Cave is...it may only be available in and around the state. That said, you should be able to find different types of rope chewing tobacco in smoke shops where you are at. Certainly if you are stateside. Europe or elsewhere may be a different story.

Same. I get Mammoth Cave and Cumberland Twist but I would find neither smokable due to the heavy sticky casing. Wild Duck Twist and Cotton Boll are good to smoke though.

I haven't yet smoked the Mammoth Cave but I did open the package and transfer to a jar, I didn't notice any sticky casing? Perhaps when cut and rubbed? Maybe with enough drying time it won't be an issue.

I used to chew Bull Of The Woods, Days Work, and Cannonball plugs quite often and have wondered how they would smoke. They’re a little hard to find around here now. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I saw Bull Of The Woods, and it was my favorite. On a side note, Cumberland Twist is the only chewing tobacco that has ever kicked my ass in the nicotine department.
