I tried the current iteration of Half and Half manufactured by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, and found it to be insipid, tasting nothing like the original American Tobacco Company's product.
Could not agree more.As a smoker of some of the blend from that time period,I could not agree more. Granted I was a kid, but bought a tub of what they call this blend today and gifted it away...

You can kind of get a general idea of the age if it still has a tax stamp. granted all that means is how old the stamp is not the tobacco inside but its a general range.

My best guess would be that the use by the pipe-tobacco industry of key-opened metal tins was discontinued sometime during the 1980s in favor of the less expensive aluminized cardboard container with aluminum pop-top lid. I am confident, however, that the latter would not maintain its contents nearly as well 45-years hence.
