I've not smoked 1792. I gave an experienced pipe smoking friend a tin, meaning to give him something special, when I didn't know any better: that is how polarizing it is. I gave him several tins, all different blends. He liked the other two, and never spoke of the 1792, so that gives you a feel of how it does or doesn't go over. I take it, it's high nic (extra high) and distinctive flavor, and pretty flavor forward. I like aro flavors to take a back seat. However, some find 1792 sublime.

I read many reviews but was sadly disappointed by 1792.

On the flip side I was most impressed by Peterson Signature Flake

A couple of bowls was enough for me to decide that 1792 was definitely not for me. The rest of that tin has remained untouched in a jar for over 6 years. But hey, there’s that much more for those of you who love it.
Some new tin art might be appropriate:

I love 1792 flake but it has become another unicorn blend... impossible to find.

I think it will be back, this seems to be the normal cycle for Gawith blends. They are easily obtainable for a period of time and then for months ya can’t find them anywhere. Then they come back in stock and immediately sell out but eventually they seem to catch up and low and behold they’ll be in stock everywhere for months to come and the the cycle repeats, some company or blend will go belly up, there will be mass hysteria and pipe smokers will go buying out everything they can, even if they don’t like the blends they are buying. Rinse, repeat. In 2017 it was as if Gawith blends had been forgotten about and that’s when I took the opportunity to load up and I purchased several boxes of my favorite blends, still need to stock up on a few more but for the most part you won’t have me to compete with when they do come back in stock. 3P’s on the other hand, well I only have a couple hundred tins and I need a couple hundred more so I’m loading up on that stuff if it ever comes back.
