Some great albums listed here folks. Am now kicking myself for not mentioning any Floyd/Waters live albums as they're all great though my latest purchase was Us and Them Live by Roger Waters, not his best by a long stretch.

Another couple spring to mind, Hendrix Live at the Fillmore East, can't recall the year and the pretty hard to find Fleetwood Mac Madison Blues Live album.

And yes, Rush Exit Stage Left is a fab album.

As for Peter Frampton Comes Alive, I had it for years but didn't rate it so gave it away

Also amazed to hear Porcupine Tree mentioned.....never knew they had made it so big.

Regards,

Jay.

This has to be the best cover version of Steppenwolf's 'Born To Be Wild' here played by Slade from their Slade Alive album of 1972. I was all of 11 years old then and still have the original album I bought when I was 15!

Slade - Slade Alive Part 7 - Born To Be Wild - YouTube

Did Slade ever make it big in the US I wonder? They were huge over here in the 70's & 80's.

Regards,

Jay.

Live Bullet by Seger, Springsteen's Live Box Set, Who Live at Leeds, Cash at Folsom, Wings Over America, Supertamp Paris is pretty good for the few songs I like, so many choices, so few brain cells this morning.

Edit: lots of others I see above now I'm reading them and how did I forget Little Feat and Lowell George! A pox upon me!

Not a huge fan of live albumsm but a few that come to mind:

Genesis - Seconds Out (look at the credits and all the stuff Phill Collins did, he must have been running around that stage like a toddler on caffine).

Jimi Hendrix - Woodstock

Actually, the whole Woodstock album also.

That's it really. As I said, don't really enjoy live albums all that much.

Many have mentioned The Who 'Live at Leeds', I had to repurchase this last year as for some reason it has disappeared from my CD shelf

Regards Deep Purple's Made in Japan, I much prefer their 'Live in Concert' double album though the former is of course a brilliant album.

Regards,

Jay.

Slade made it big in the US through a different channel.

Quiet Riot covered several of their songs, like Cum On Feel the Noize, and got recognition. But as a whole on their own, Slade was not big in the American market.

Neither Slade or Status Quo made much on an impact in the US.

How about UFO - Strangers in the Night (equates to the UK's version of Blue Oyster Cult)

"The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over"

I have the 'Hell Freezes Over' live DVD (recorded in Australia) and a great album it is too, Joe Walsh is quite the performer when on stage.

And how could I forget Hawkwind's 'Space Ritual Live' from back in the 70's? Used to be a massive Hawkwind fan afore they went all techno  .

Jay.
