McClelland Tastemaster is a premo aromatic.
Captain Black Dark is my favorite sweet.
Sutliff Molto Dolce is also very good.

Trout Stream has become, with L1Q,the standard I keep in my pouch and my airtight bulk canister; Nording's collection of aros will keep any aro fan happy.

Are CAO aromatics loved by any? Can't get into them. I've tried Black and Moontrance. I've yet to try Vanilla, Cherry Bomb, or Eileen's Dream but have them. I dunno if it's me or the tobacco. I usually go with a non-aro I know I like when given the opportunity to smoke a pipe.
Eileen's Dream is great!
No aro collection is complete without a heavy dose of Trout Stream.

I just finished ip a bowl of three year old Vanilla Cream Flake, great stuff. And, several of those I already stock back. And, several of those disgusts me.

I don't find that age really hurts these, maybe at 20 years it would diminish the topping, but like latakia a few years really sets the topping further into the tobacco, balancing them. But of course, not all aromatics are created eaqual. For aging, you might look for aromatic Virginias and not thay swill weed most goopy aromatics are made with.
Harris, you might also try Solani Mango Flakes. If you like the piney, sweet gin-like flavor of mango. It's the aromatic that I stock the most of. Really good flavors.

I don't smoke aromatics very often, but my favorite is Tinderbox's Reserve 1928. It is supposed to be a cocoa/chocolate aro and it does smell that way in the tin, but to me it has a very interesting buttery baked goods flavor. Like shortbread or buttered croissants or biscuits or something. I also really like Frog Morton Cellar which is kind of a crossover English/Aro.

My Favourites are the following, all with a "to die for aroma" -
Macbaren Original Choice (The Cavendish in these are made with Virginia)

Superb, complex rich dark taste and aromas of maybe liquorice, fruit, caramel, vanilla
Macbaren Seven Seas Black (The Cavendish in these are made with Virginia)

Superb rich dark taste and aromas of Amaretto, liquorice, Vanilla and cocoa
Samuel Gawith Celtic Talisman

The best Cherry and Vanilla blend with good quality tobaccos and a nic hit
Petersons Sunset Breeze

Nice sweet blend with strong Amoretto and vanilla flavours.
Mick Mcquaid plug (available from pipedivan)

Amoretto Brandy flavour.

All three of these are decent tasting, however I found that the lacked strength. Last night I divided a tin of C&D Burley Flake #1 between the three. I'll visit them in a month or so and see how that blend takes up the flavoring of the aros around it. I used the Burley Flake in these mostly because I wasn't too impressed with its taste on its own. It wasn't terrible, just not what I was looking for in a burley flake.
I also like

Scotty's Butternut Burley - just a great don't think about it blend.

Sutliff's Maple Street - my kids say I smell like a baked ham when I smoke this one.

Sutliff's Taste of Summer - I'm a sucker for peach flavor, this one is really nice and has a decent base of tobacco flavor.

You guys are the bomb, hell of a list we have going.
Lakelands are not allowed on this list. We do not allow 4 week old dead grandma flavors onto our list, I cannot stress this enough. Please all lakeland lovers do not take this personally, it is just we don't want a newbie to get his hands on some and then get turned off from pipe smoking forever.
Also there is to be no Latakia in these blends. I know people think the Frog is a crossover(which it is) but Latakia is strictly for English smokers, sorry add something else.
Reiner Flake is also a no go, we could go forever with blends that have just a small amount of topping, they need to be true aro's.
Reading this thread brings a tear to my eye, you are doing aro smokers the world over a great service and your karma will forever be good. Now can I get someone to correlate the list so we can get some definition.
Lets go for blends that have been mentioned at least 3 times and then see what it looks like.

So now that the mighty Harris smokes aromatics, all of a sudden the entire aromatic group are suddenly brought up to your self acclaimed status?
Interesting.
I call shenanigans.
