As a wood worker myself, I like all grain.
I haven't tried one yet. Other than that, how was the smoke?I just discovered today that I really like morta. Doesn't even get warm to the touch.
Pipes have never affected the taste of tobacco for me, but the pipe is feather light with an amazingly open draw. I thought being particularly petrified wood would give it some weight but it's lighter than a similar sized meerschaum.I haven't tried one yet. Other than that, how was the smoke?
Meerschaum doesn't have grain.?I was just talking about real pipes.
Hmmmm, or does it? grains of sand? It is silicate right???Meerschaum doesn't have grain.?
I’ve never smoked out of morta, but I’m interested. Is it like smoking out of meerschaum?I just discovered today that I really like morta. Doesn't even get warm to the touch.
For me, pipes don't affect the smoke but the morta I have is much lighter than any meerschaum I own.I’ve never smoked out of morta, but I’m interested. Is it like smoking out of meerschaum?
I’m all aboard this same boat, as I don’t really have disposable income to throw away, and I really love a great looking pipe, fancy grains and all, but it’s not always going to be a better smoker, than an inexpensive pipe. So this is always in the back of my mind when making pipe buying decisions.Beautiful straight grain does nothing to make a pipe smoke better. It's kind of like a flawless diamond compared to one with flaws. The straight grain is worth more simply because of the law of supply and demand.
