That is a stunner! Right up my alley. Little worried about you walking around in a daze and hurting yourself, you might want to keep your Becker up

Beautiful Paolo Becker pipe. I am envious since I have longed for a Becker pipe for several years. Enjoy you new Becker!

Petes03 -- You won't catch *me* admitting I misread the title. Because, um, then ... you see ... you *arouse* suspicion because you came in here *anyway.*
(What did you expect to find again?)
LOL
Anyway, that's why *I* didn't fess up to misreading the thread heading at first. Instead, I came in to see why *you* had come in.
(Yeah. That's the ticket.)

Fantastic Becker there. Love the shape, would also love to add more but as with other brands they sure have gotten more expensive in recent years! Good for him, bad for me.
I only have one but it's a magnificent smoker. Figure I'll add it here.

Only thing is, of course I get gunk on my rims. Never have figured out how to clean off the smoke residue from the rim of a rusticated or sandblasted pipe rim... with smooths I just wipe it with a moist cloth and off it goes.
Oh well.
This thread may have inspired me to fire it up next!

beautiful pipe, fishingandpipes.
I keep my rims clean by using a pocketknife to keep the cake away by carving it down a couple of mm's below the rim, but you need a steady hand and eye.

I keep the tobacco packed down below the rim, about a quarter of an inch. Also, hold your fire source about half an inch above the rim and draw the flame down to the tobacco with your breath. The flame doesn't have to touch the tobacco, just the heat.
To clean the rim, use spit and a good clean cloth. Spit works slow, but it does dissolve the char and creeped cake well, without messing up the finish. On rustication, I use spit and an old electric toothbrush.
I hope that helps, and once again, beautiful pipe!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I use the spit method. I'm not so good about the not filling all the way part ;) On a rusticated or sandblast rim I find it's prrrretty hard to get off even that way though, you've had luck? I guess I should stick to black ones so I don't notice it!

That is a fantastic looking pipe. I hope you get many good decades of smoking pleasure out of it.
