Specially the vertical straight grain like Viscount Lascelles. I need to get one like that some day!
That’s a favorite of mine. It’s a patent with the diamond shape four dot logo. Has the newer style Sasieni stamping as opposed to the florid Sasieni stamping. I don’t recall when they dropped the patent stamping, but I’m guessing that this was manufactured right around the time of the changeover in the 1945 timeframe. I’m sure they still had a stock of the previous diamond logo stems, and were using the remaining stock up. And yes, the rustication is straight as opposed to sort of organic as the others, which is sort of unique.
Yeah, that rustic finish is pretty unique. Kind of looks like a fingerprint. I like it.
I'd love to see a video of these rustic pipes being created.
I’ve heard that there were a few ladies at the factory that did this work. Definitely takes some skill to create that.
