The peg board is a good idea. Lots of room to add more pipes if needed.
It was time for a change. My pipe/ drum room, that used to be one of the kids rooms was deemed to not Befitting for hospitality when kids came home to visit. Found a smokin deal on a Murphy bed with cabinets. Pipes, tobacco, and accoutrements, got a new home. Practice drum set fits just fine, more space, and we now have an extra real bed! 
This one is a work in progress. We just moved and I'm getting it set up in the new house.
I'm going to put a piece of wood at the top where things don't sit down in it and you can see the racks on top.
Also, there are different racks now than there were in this photo.
I'll post a new one when I get it set up like I like it.
