Show Us Your Penzance Pipe!

Ok... so... I was given a sample of Penzance about five years ago from a generous member here, and for 5 long years I searched online for Penzance with no luck. So... recently I said screw it and started buying black-market Penzance and have amassed a small stash to enjoy as a treat on holidays and special occasions. Decided to dedicate a new pipe to this elusive leaf. With that being said, here is my Penzance Pipe. Anyone else have a Penzance Pipe? Let’s see them!!!

Thanks! That's a little old trapper cabin on our property that was built in 1960. It is a few hundred feet behind the cabin we actually live in, which is much more modern:

Thanks! Been in this one 3 years. We'll probably be here another year or two. Breaking ground on a new house on another piece of property north of Palmer, AK hopefully this fall but if not next spring. Kids popping out and such, it's getting cramped rather quickly, hahaha.

This is the pipe I plan to use for Penzance: a Dunhill Shell. It is my high quality English pipe. I broke it in with original Balkan Sobranie and now use it for Ashton Artisan’s Syrian. I want to stick to Syrian Latakia for now, but eventually I’ll probably use it to smoke the Penzance I have aging.

Don't let it age too long if you like strong Latakia. The lat in Penzance goes flat after only a couple of years.

So... fresh Penzance seems to taste smokey, sweet, and incense-like. How would you describe the flavor of aged Penzance?

Well shoot. That’s a little disappointing. Must still taste good to some people. Seems like aged Penzance sells for a lot more than fresh.

I gave away a few pounds from 2007 a few months back to forum members and traded a bag for some Murray's Three Year Matured Virginia. I think it's more about having it than smoking it. I blended my remaining stash with 1-Q.

Have you tried LJ Peretti's Royal? Has more of the incense than Penzance.

I use my Castello Natural Vergin KK Canadian for 'English Flakes.' I think in this photo there's actually some Penzance in the chamber.

Have you tried LJ Peretti's Royal? Has more of the incense than Penzance.

I have not. Will definitely have to check that one out!
