Smoking this “Made in England” Comoy’s I’m impressed by the stem. There’s talk of Comoy’s stems being so-so but this prewar pipe has a really solid-feeling stem. It feels like good quality and it’s comfortable.

I just finished this 331C Tradition. Sometime the Tradition finish is fantastic.

A recent restoration, a Royal Comoy, Shape 17.
Al, while I don't know what it looked like before you started, that is truly a beauty now. Classic lines and a fabulous job on the stem, which seems to be your trademark.

I love this sandblast I picked up. One of the things I notice is that the stem appears to be hand-finished. I assume at some point, pre-transition, they stopped hand-finishing their stems? This is a very craggy blast!

No, unfortunately, this thread was started before you upload photos directly to the thread on the forum. Folks used Photobucket, etc and when those photos were removed, or subscription lapsed, etc, they are no longer available.
1 oz target weight would be a pretty difficult find, that is only 28 grams. Tradition grades, the most common run around 45-50 grams. Similar to a Group 3. Smallish, by my standard, and right in my sweetspot (45-50 gram weight).
Thanks! It's hard to find an image of this shape but I eventually found some on worthpoint. It's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Is this a hard shape to come by (particularly with the 3-part C)?

The 156 is not common. I've never had one. Here's the Lovat lineup from a 1950's catalog.
Lovats, lumbermen, and liverpools in general are less common than other straight billiard family shapes. There’s a good Lovat thread on here somewhere.
Lovats aren't hard to come by.
But a Comoy Lovat with 3-part C is a rare beast

In the pipe size column, a LW denotes lite weight. Then use the shape number to find what you seek.
