Since the seasons are changing and a lot of forum members live where the weather can/does get cold what do you wear to smoke?

I am fortunate enough that I can smoke in our attached, insulated garage. However, that being said, it can still get quite cold. Since I am a broken down old guy I don't care what other people think. I found this old electric blanket while rummaging in the basement the other day and thought, 'Wow!' this could be the cat's whiskers for smoking. My wife even said it was OK. Here is what I now smoke under. About 20 minutes before I go out to smoke, I turn it on Hi.

Oh oh oh! It is so toasty warm.

Just picked it up from the cleaners, ready for another winter.
A little backstory; About two years ago in the fall I decided I wanted a long coat for winter. Iowa is bitter cold in the winter, as well as windy and dry, and I wanted as much protection as possible. I also don't like sitting on a cold seat when crawling into my car.
Anyway, at some point I settled on the word Greatcoat in my search, and found this thing--an olive drab, brass-buttoned uniform piece issued to the Belgian Civil Defense Force in the years following WWII. It was rather dated, to the point of being comical, but I saw potential and set to work. I acid dyed it jet black (two coats--in my bathtub!), cut off the epaulets, switched out the buttons, removed the half belt and brought in the back, and used some of the material I cut off to make turned-up cuffs on the sleeves (the sleeves were way to short, I gained about an inch and 3/4 with that little trick.)
Now I have a very dapper 100% wool, calf-length black Greatcoat with a rich history at a very modest cost, and associated with a great deal of personal pride.
Any other Greatcoats out there?

Now if Brad would lend me his new selfie-stick I could get some proper pictures up!

Yup it was. I think that would certainly cause umm, some rigidity issues at -25C :)

Nice score Elbert!

I'm not smart enough to upload a photo, but I like to wear my OD green army parka with gray scarf and a ballcap. I have to smoke in an insulated shop building with a heater, not by the cozy fireplace. But I consider myself more fortunate than some.
As Igor said to Doctor Frankenstein while digging up the corpse, " could be worse, could be raining"

I found this amazing bargain during the height of summer on The Ebay, an Andrew Marc Shearling 3/4 length coat for $125. It's the most comfortable item I've ever had :) I very much look forward to cold nights spent in it.

I live in southern Arizona. If I showed my winter apparel, anybody who gets real winter would think I was being a wiseass.

Johnnyreb, now I'm wondering if I can install one of those in my garage on my side of the garage. I don't think it would be compatible with the electric blanket though. Plus my grandkids would be in it all the time.

"Gee Papa, we love your swimming pool."

I just finished a bowl of Blackwood Flake sitting in my garage without the electric blanket on. Just my down vest and sweatshirt underneath. I'm still shivering and can't get warm. Temp outside today is +1C and it's only going to get colder. Will wrap in the blanket tonight for my evening bowl.

It doesn't help that my agreement with she who must be obeyed is that I strip down to my gaunch in the garage before coming back in the house. And don't even think about posting pictures of what that image invokes.

What, you want all the forum members to go blind?

Brad what in the world is that you got smoking?
