Throughout the ’90s and beyond, my EDC cutter was a Davidoff Guillotine with self sharpening blades. All of my jeans had the outline of the shape worn into my left back pocket. I still have it, but it’s in storage, probably in a box in my basement, but it looked like this:
These days I mostly use a XIKAR VX2 V-cut and a cheap Colibri Viper V cutter (for on the go):
These two Select Draw punches are interesting, but usually damage the caps too much, so I don’t reach for them often:
The bigger of the two is too unwieldy—of the two, the smaller one is more user friendly.
Another fun punch, that I don’t use too much these days is a circular punch in a .44 Magnum shell:
The XIKAR XO is great because of the gear system that applies even pressure from both sides:
This XIKAR Xi3 Fossil Mammoth Ivory Cigar Cutter with 10,000 year old tusk scales is a favourite mostly because I love having something so old incorporated in the design—coolness factor wins out (plus it’s a perfectly fine cigar cutter—shown with the now discontinued Xi Stingray case):
