The stem on the 1912 pipe is amber and the pipe is cased. The 1907 companion set is unsmoked. 1915 was my father's birth year, so that pipe has a special meaning for me. George Dibos made a period correct stem for it as well as a modern flat stem so that I can smoke it in comfort. The stem on the 1907 bulldog is made from horn, which is pretty rare for Barling.
In addition, I have a 1913 YOW, which is the earliest YOW I've seen, and 1916 YOW, as well as several pipes from the 1920's, that are not yet centenarians. I also regularly smoke a 1906 French carved Baring bent billiard that is in regular rotation and smokes brilliantly well.
It's a pretty modest collection compared to some that I've been privileged to see or am aware of. There are some truly jaw dropping collections out there.
