Hello all!! Since I mentioned how much fun we had at both Boswell locations, I figured now I'll show you all our Boswell pipes. We now have 15 in total. I think both my honeybear and I are in agreement that Boswell Pipes are a great investment. You get really good quality pipes, they're strong and most of the time very big, but all in all, you get to take home really good pieces for such good prices! And like I said in my other post, I really appreciate and love the fact that JM makes the bowls with his hands not machines! He told us when we met him... And last but not least, I'd like to mention how well these pipes smoke too! And you get one ounce of your choice of pipe tobacco when you purchase one of their pipes!

Question, what do you use to maintain the outside of the pipe? As far as cleaning and maintaining?

Nothing. Just wipe with a dry cloth.

I've restored a lot of pipes and I have a blend of waxes and polymers I make and use. I posted the recipe on this site somewhere.

You could use Renaissance wax too.

I've refinished pipes with flake shellac using French polish technique and even just beeswax and olive oil blend.

This is all for the smooth briar types.

Mostly though just wipe down with a soft dry cloth. The rusticated and sandblasted types don't really need anything at all even a wipe down ia not necessary. They snag sometimes on cloths.
