I'll be honest, I like the looser clinch on the original stem. This is a bit snug to the chin. How do you find it compared to the others?
Yeah that’s what I would imagine. Is that somewhat of a benefit when clenching?I'll be honest, I like the looser clinch on the original stem. This is a bit snug to the chin.
I think that would just vary on ones personal preference. I'll stick to the regular Cannonballs.Yeah that’s what I would imagine. Is that somewhat of a benefit when clenching?
Smokingpipes.com had an estate Jack Howell on its site the other day.I have been redoing my collection some. I decided to move out any pipe that I don't smoke on a regular basis. I have been adding a number of Jack Howell pipes. They are all commissioned pipes as trying to find an estate Howell is impossible. I looked for over 7 years and never found one.
Here are a few of my new Howells and then a few other American made pipes.
New Howells:
Here is a couple of my Rad Davis:
A Bruce Weaver Volcano
A Brian Ruthenberg pipe.
This is more than I can take in without losing my witsSmokingpipes.com had an estate Jack Howell on its site the other day.
The engineering of these pipes is ( imho ) beyond comparison. My two Will Purdy pipes.
I apologise for the picture quality :

What material is the black band between the briar and the bamboo? I do hope it's not rubber because not everyone knows or cares enough to keep rubber so it won't turn green.Jesse Jones is a scary-good carver.
Because he's a laid back Old School Gentleman, though, he doesn't drive around the Internet shooting off fireworks to draw attention to himself.
No errors or shortcomings, imo. Perfectly conceived and perfectly executed:

Honest question here…
Are there pipe makers who promote themselves in a distasteful way? Or do you mean it’s just neat that he isn’t doing it for large monetary gain or fame? Doing it more for his own satisfaction and interest maybe.
Again, honest question, I’m a newb in general, and definitely when it comes to artisan makers; so just curious what you meant.
