macabra, i have a choice between a 1.75 liter purple or brown crown bag myself, hahaha. That is what i used and still continue to use sometimes and they work absolutely great. I just recently, within the past few weeks, bought the stokkebye and do not even have the peterson's from the seller on ebay yet. Nothing those crown bags cannot be used for, i am convinced of it!

@rsuninv - I like that Savinelli Roll Up. Looks like a great bag for a short trip.

layinpipe - the liquor stores here have boxes of them next to the door. Just about every time I go to the liquor store, I grab a crown bag on the way out the door. I have a LOT of crown bags!
rsuninv - that rollup is pretty nifty. I love rollup cases for tools, brushes, etc, so that would be ideal. I'll have to look on the interwebs for something like that.

That is a beauty!
I have a Smoking Holsters, six-pipe "Ultimate" bag that is my show/club bag. I think it would hold at least 10 pipes.

Generally the black 4 pipe case is all. However, I'm taking a trip and was feeling indecisive. So i grabbed a range bag and made it into a temp pipe and tobacco hauler for a multitude of options. Although I'm sure I'll pick up some more tobacco in NOLA.

You have assumed correctly Brittney. Though any good smoke is definitely relaxing. This is going to be an especially promising trip.

Nice pipe-comidations. I have 3 pipe cases. The largest one is a P&C Julius Max Evocatus and came as part of an order a couple or so years back and I have never had the need to use is. I am letting it age for use at a future pipe club meeting that I have no knowledge of at the present. The bottom one is a generic leather case made in China. It will hold 2 pipes if you are lucky and easily hold a couple ounces. The middle one is:
La Rocca Leather Pipe Shaped Combination Tobacco Pouch/Pipe/Tool Carrier. Genuine nappa leather combination pouch with latex lining accommodates 1 standard sized pipe and approximately 1 ounce of pipe tobacco. Available in black and brown. Dimensions: 3.5" H (at tallest point) x 7" W.

The La Rocca is very handy and I have had it the longest. Very supple yet durable, fits easily in shirt pocket and is all you need for a night at the horse races. It gets used occasionally but regularly. If my house burned down it is the only case I would replace.

I picked up my modified Smoking Holsters Necessities bag today from my Mennonite shoe repairman.

I bought this bag from the classifieds at the SmokersForums for around $60. When the bag arrived, I thought it was the perfect size. It would fit four pipes easily and probably six in a pinch, with accessories. However in using the bag, it had one pretty big problem - the flap had no closure and it was always hanging open. The sides of the straps only secured about halfway down the bag. So, it always felt like the bag was pitching over, the flap hanging open and spilling my pipes the ground. It never did, but I worried about it so much, I stopped using it. These things rung around $250-$300, and I was always puzzled as to why it didn't have a closure of some sorts.
I contacted Smoking Holsters to see if they could put on a closure. Yep, $50 and I had to mail it to them. (he was a little indignant that I would request a clasp and he couldn't include those kind of details at that price point). I never got around to doing that, but with my upcoming trip to New Orleans, I wanted the bag to be secure. My local shoe-repairman (a wonderful Mennononite farmer) put a rare earth magnetic closure and neatly sewed the stap to the top of the bag. Now, it hangs straight and the flap is secure. That cost me a cool $20 and some interesting conversation with a hog-farmer, shoe repairman!

Oh yeah, I get a lot of ribbing on that one from my wife and daughters, on my "man bag". In fact, a few minutes ago, I slung it on my shoulder and strutted around the living room to great laughter. However, I remain confident in my sexuality.

Thanks for sharing Al - good pics and glad that worked out so well for you. The bag is cool, but claypipearchaeologist's post reminded me of this:

That Sav rollup is nice, looks like something I've been trying to find for awhile. Are they still available somewhere? Would love a roll-up that can fit maybe a pipe or two and a pouch or tin or toboacco that can still fit in a jacket pocket.
Or even a one pipe rollup.
I've had pipe/pouch combos that never seemed to work out, and I have a junky four pipe bag that gets super crowded for when I go camping but I've yet to find anything I actually like to use.

Hey, let me be clear. That Smoking Holsters bag is modeled after a gentleman's shotgun shell bag and as such, quite manly. Just saying.
lol! No worries Al. TBH, I like it - it reminds me of the bags carried by mountain men of the 1800s.
