Do like the dark smooth finish more than the heritage.
I understand & agree, but I remind myself the Heritage is exactly that recalling a time when a man had a few everyday pipes and maybe one FANCY briar finish. The Heritage I have found is great for an outdoor smooth workhorse. ❤️ I own Blasts & Rustic for same purpose, but I do enjoy the occasional smooth finish that I need not 'baby' when I am out & about or working in the shop & need to set it down in a hurry. 💣

Forgive the ol' history teacher in me stepping outta retirement. I found myself thinking on this a couple of years back on that topic AND lamenting how I needed more DS. 😵‍💫The Heritage is wonderful, BUT .... I DO LOVE those lovely Dark Smooths I own. SUCH a great Look 😻

I'm such a sucker - with SP EU still holding my Rua hostage and some concern over whether it will ever be provided, I was perusing SP last night and decided I'd add a dark smooth - the number just happened to be my birthday month and year, lol, either fate or a really, really weak excuse for ordering another 160th.

Good news is my PPN is arriving today and my other 160ths escaped the USPS hell of Olathe, Kansas and are moving again.

I was on the fence, then yesterday decided it’s a cool enough release at an affordable enough price that if they had my month/day or month/year number I’d go ahead and grab it (if I liked it).
I was saved from that expense, fortunately.

Here is a PPN 2025 POY number 87 of 105. I just broke it in with some Carolina Red Flake with Perique and about to pack it up for another round. Overall, it’s a nice little pipe and I love the cobble finish. I’m really disappointed in the overworked P-lip, but I’m giving it a chance. The upper lip just barely catches my tooth.
